Welcome
Paddle it Forward is an incorporated not-for-profit organization that offers free guided SUP events to youth ages 5-18.
We operate on a “Pay-it-Forward” model and offer paid lessons and certification courses that are inclusive to all genders. Every one of these tours and lessons sponsors youth in our Girls on Boards, Youth Skills & Junior Paddlers programs.
Girls on Boards program
Girls on Boards was started in Nova Scotia in 2017 and now has a presence across Canada, as well as a few international Leaders!
The program offers sponsored standup paddle boarding experiences for youth that help build confidence, promote body positivity and focus on empowerment through skills development.
These events will be two hours in length and completely free of charge to participants. Each event includes the use of a SUP board. paddle, safety equipment and a certified guide.
Youth skills & Junior Paddlers programs
The Youth Skills Program is offered to youth ages 8-18 and Junior Paddlers is for youth ages 5-7. Both programs are open to youth of all genders. These programs are centred specifically around skills development (and fun, of course!).
These events will be one to two hours in length and completely free of charge to participants. Each event includes the use of a SUP board. paddle, safety equipment and a certified guide.
If interested, following the Youth Skills program a participant can arrange to take their Basic Skills Certification Course through Paddle it Forward at no cost.
Our Team
Kelly
Hi! I’m the Founder & Director of Paddle it Forward. I’m a Paddle Canada Advanced Flatwater SUP instructor and trained Girls on Boards facilitator living in Greater Napanee.
As a young girl, I left sports due to a lack of confidence and very low self-esteem. This isn’t unique, 1 in 3 girls will leave sports they love by their late teens for the very same reasons. I’m hoping I can help curb that number in our community.
When I’m not on a SUP board you can find me outdoors doing other activities with my family & dogs or baking up a storm.
Thank you for joining me here in this space.
Danielle
Hi! My name is Danielle! I’m a volunteer with Paddle it Forward and a Paddle Canada Basic SUP instructor that resides in Trenton, Ontario.
I was fortunate enough to be able to participate in many sports growing up and I love being a part of something that provides children with the opportunity to participate in sports in a safe and fun way without the burden of registration fees and equipment costs.
I have always been passionate about sports and the outdoors and if I’m not on a paddle board you can find me riding my horse, playing in some sort of mixed sports league or camping.
Come learn to SUP with us!
